“Big Meanie”

So, Mary Coughlan is upset that the opposition is smearing the reputation of the government. Well, the job of the opposition parties is to smear the reputation of the Government. You would think that the government would be happy that it can at least keep 81 people in guaranteed work for the next couple of years but no, they’re complaining that the mean old opposition are making Fianna Fail and the Greens (we can’t forget the Greens) look bad. I will try to keep writing while I dry my tears and attempt to stop my poor heart from breaking at the plight of the poor government who are being bullied by the opposition. I have a few points I would like to make.

1) The current government is massively unpopular

2) The current government are not very good

3) If Fianna Fail and the Greens where in opposition they would be doing the exact same thing that the opposition are doing now.

4) Anyone who allows them self to feel bullied by Enda Kenny does not deserve to be running a country.

I don’t think it’s unfair to say that the government is not doing a very good job. I was going to go out of my way and post lots of facts and figures about how bad the situation is but even I’m sick of hearing facts and figures about how bad the situation is. The biggest sore point seems to be Eamon Gilmore’s accusation that Brian Cowen had committed economic treason, I suppose if you’re in the business of running a country being accused of betraying that country is a big deal...but at the end of the day we all knew it was hyperbole and bluster. What Gilmore was trying to say was “You’re shit at your job Brian Cowen” but in Politics you can never say what you really think and therefore some oul shite about economic treason had to be concocted.

I think Mary just has a bee in her bonnet because the opposition are doing such a good job (not that I think FG/Labour would be a better alternative as government, its just that theres never been an easier time to be the opposition than now). Making Fianna Fail/The Greens look bad is not exactly a difficult job.

Brian Cowen is not as bad as Hitler

Coincidentally, this comes in the same week that parodies of the German film “Downfall” are being removed from Youtube. I think, there is a similarity here, on the one hand you have someone arguing that something that makes light out of a horrible dictator should be stopped and on the other hand you have copyright violation from some film about Hitler. I joke, Brian Cowen isn’t as bad as Hitler....he’s just terrible at his job....come to think of it so was Hitler....Cowen doesn’t have a moustache though....yet.
